Hoisting by Gin Pole or Pulley on Tower. The procedure is the same as for a crane or helicopter, but additional restraining ropes (tag lines) are needed as shown in Figures 11 and 12. These ropes prevent damage to the antenna from swinging into a fence, building, or the tower.

5. Position and Attach Antenna

Raise the antenna above the antenna mount on the platform. Lower the antenna through the mount so that the trunnions settle into the pivot brackets on the support assembly. Then keep the tension on the hoist line until the items shown in Figure 13 are installed in Bulletin 237094. This will secure the antenna to prevent any movement that could damage it before removing the hoist line.

Release the tension on the hoist line. Then unhook the hoist line and remove the hoist straps and shackles. Remove the protective wrapping from the antenna feed.
