Installation Instructions Calibrated Leakage/Vent Valve for Horn Antennas |
Bulletin 237052 |
This valve assembly is designed to provide venting and calibrated leakage of air within SHX10 horn antennas. The valve has two parts, a vent fitting and a leakage stem. The vent fitting is installed at the factory and provides free flow of air into and out of the antenna during shipment and storage. This fitting can be used to purge the antenna of moist air after installation. The leakage stem is installed as shown after purging the system of moist air. This provides continuous circulation of dry air at a controlled rate. The stem provides a dry-air flow rate of 0.5 standard cubic feet per hour at a system pressure of 5 inches of water. Refer to the graph for flow rates at other pressures. For installed antennas that do not have this valve assembly, vent valve kit 207430 is available for field installation. The installation, maintenance or removal or antenna system requires qualified, experienced personnel. Andrew installation instructions have been written for such personnel. Antenna systems should be inspected once a year by qualified personnel to verify proper installation, maintenance and condition of equipment. Andrew disclaims any liability or responsiblity for the results of improper or unsafe installation practices. |
